Student Research
Broadly I am interested in natural history of our native wildlife and what factors have historically and currently influences their populations. I have had the opportunity to conduct research with graduate and undergraduate students through Frostburg State University and undergraduate students at Allegheny College. A few of my recent projects involving undergraduate students at Allegheny include:
Understanding patterns in mammal diversity on French Creek Valley Conservancy properties in Northwestern Pennsylvania
Instream habitat improvement and monitoring in the French Creek Watershed (with Mark Kirk and Casey Bradshaw-Wilson)
Evaluating the thermal integrity of streams in Northwestern Pennsylvania based on water temperature and fish community data (with Mark Kirk and Casey Bradshaw-Wilson)
Determination of terrestrial salamander diversity relative to edge and sampling type (with Casey-Bradshaw-Wilson)
Bat community composition at Presque Isle State Park with the Regional Science Consortium
