NDIS Participants wanting to exercise, improve physical health or work through injuries!
The All Abilities Movement is a movement project that has been created out of necessity.
People with disabilities, especially in regional areas, struggle to get consistent and appropriate physical activity that is specifically tailored to them and their needs. And we all know how vital physical activity is!
Providing access to this service, through NDIS funding, is our way of attempting to bridge that gap.
Some NDIS participants can get access to rehabilitation based exercise and physical activity infrequently. In our experience, this can be great, but the service often finishes as the participant is starting to make good progress.
We endeavour to provide NDIS participants with appropriate physical activity and exercise at a frequency (1-3 times per week) where we can see long term improvements to:
General health
Physical capacity
Body composition (weight loss, muscle gain.)
Muscular strength and endurance
Balance and coordination
Implementing other health and wellbeing habits
Overall lifespan and quality of life
We do this by taking the time to understand what each and every participant at a personal level and their disability, then structuring an appropriate plan that suits the participants, their personality and needs.
Over the past 4 years, we have worked with people with disabilities including:
Multiple Sclerosis
Acquired Brain Injuries
Limb Amputations
Severe Obesity
Schizophrenia
Bipolar Disorder
Mental Illness
Autism
Chronic pain
