The Epson ScanSmart software must be installed from your scanner's Driver and Utilities Combo Package. Click here to search for your scanner and download the recommended Drivers and Utilities Combo Package.
You can scan and review documents in Epson ScanSmart.
Load your original into the scanner. See your scanner's User's Guide for instructions.
Start the scan by doing one of the following:
Press the start or scan button on the scanner. Epson ScanSmart automatically opens on your computer and the scan job begins. (The default is double-sided scanning.)
Open Epson Scan Software on your computer. Do one of the following:
Windows 10: Click > Epson Software > Epson ScanSmart.
Windows 8.x: Navigate to the Apps screen and select Epson ScanSmart.
Windows (other versions): Click or Start, and select All Programs or Programs. Select Epson Software > Epson ScanSmart.
Mac: Open the Applications folder, open the Epson Software folder, and select Epson ScanSmart.
Select a scan option. The scan job begins and your original feeds through the scanner. When scanning is complete.
You can review, edit, or reorder the scanned images as follows:
Select Scan to scan more originals.
Select Delete to delete selected scanned images.
Select Rotate Right to rotate each scanned image.
Select Crop to crop the selected image.
Select Stitch Images to combine two selected images into one image.
If you scanned double-sided, select On or Off for Include back sides if you want to keep or discard the back sides of scanned images.
When you are finished reviewing the scanned images, click Next. You see a screen like this:
Select an option to save, send, or print the scanned images.

Open EPSON Scan.
Make sure Epson Scan is in Professional Mode.
Click the Preview button to preview your image(s).
Select your scan area from the Preview window.
When you are ready to scan, click File Save Settings.
The File Save Settings window appears.
Select PDF as the Type setting.
The current Paper Size, Orientation, Margin, and Compression settings are displayed below it.
If you need to change any of the current PDF settings, click the Options button.
Select the settings that you want for your document and click OK to return to the File Save Settings window.
Once the settings are correct, click OK.
Click Scan.
If the File Save Settings window appears again, click OK.
Your page will be scanned and the following window will be displayed.
If you are scanning multiple pages, click Add page.
Replace the first page on the document table with the second page and click Scan. Repeat this step for each page in your document.
When finished, if you don't need to edit your pages, click Save File. All the document pages are saved in a PDF file in the location specified in File Save Settings.
Select Start Button then search for settings and Click on Apps.
Under Apps & features, select EPSON Scan > Uninstall and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall Epson Scan.
Go to the Epson Support page and search for your product.
Select Downloads > Drivers and download the Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan Software or Utility. Install the software.
