Hello everyone,
My name is Mr. DiMattia. I have been teaching for over 25 years. This is my 17th year (I think) at Alice Costello Elementary School. I love my job and I have the best grade partner, Mrs. Kidd. We love to bring both classes together to work on cool projects, read books and even go for walks in the community. But most importantly, we all believe you need to have fun while you learn!
My wife Luciana and I have 2 amazing kids. Our daughter Julia goes to college at West Virginia University while our son Jack is in 5th grade at Marlton Elementary School. Some of you may know Jack, he probably went to school here at ACES for Pre-K, 1st and 2nd grade. If you don't know him, you will meet him because he visits a couple of times a year. One cool fact about my wife is that she is from Brazil; so we will definitely learn a few things about Brazil this year. We usually go to Brazil every other year in December to spend the holidays with her family.
Last summer our family got a new four-legged furry addition. His name is Leo. He is a Cavachon, a combination of a Cavalier and a Bichon. Leo is still a puppy and has lots of energy. Fetch is his favorite game.
I love to watch, coach and play sports. Football is probably my favorite, but I like all other sports as well. I coach Jack's flag football team and used to coach his soccer team. I also love to travel, last summer I visited Tennessee, Florida, WildWood and the Poconos.
I'm Looking forward to a great school year with you. I assure you we will work hard but will have lots of fun while learning.
Mr. D
