The CAPS courses within the Academies of Alexandria focus on providing students with real-world projects and solve real-world problems. In EMTNR CAPS, students partner with local industries to partner on authentic projects that are directly related to career areas of interest. Prior to taking on their industry-assigned tasks, students receive a broad introduction to industry-based engineering, manufacturing, construction and design solutions and review professional skills and responsibilities required while working in local industries.
Cardinal Fab is a class that provides students with a real-world manufacturing business experience. Students run a school business that involves producing wood and metal projects within our school shop areas. Cardinal Fab has its own website within our high school website where you can find information about their team and products that are available.

YST is a unique job placement program available to juniors and seniors. The program is sponsored by the MN Department of Labor and Industry and is designed to benefit students and local industries in our communities. It allows high-demand, high-growth industries to employ 16-17 year old students in jobs that traditionally require applicants to be 18 or older. We currently offer YST placements in manufacturing, healthcare and automotive industries.
FFA is an extracurricular student organization for those interested in agriculture and leadership. It offers activities for students to compete in such as Career Development Events (CDE's), Leadership Development Events (LDE's) and Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE's). These events help students develop professional skills in these areas. The FFA Advisor is Linnay Schweisthal, one of the agriculture teachers.
