Your child should wear appropriate footwear to school daily as we encourage children to be as active as possible every day.
Reading at home
Please read daily with your children at home. We will be reading lots of stories at school too!
Tapestry
Make sure you are accessing Tapestry as it is used to share learning, celebrate achievements, and support home-school communication.
Library
The children will be taking books home from our school Library.
Books need to be returned on or before the day that the children visit the library.

Communication and Language
The children will learn how to listen carefully and why listening is important.
The children will also be learning new vocabulary and be using new vocabulary through the day.
Personal Social and Emotional Development
The children will be learning to see themselves as a valuable individual. They will be learning how to navgatigate new relationships with thier staff and peers.
Physical Development
The children will be taking part PE sessions. These sessions will help the children to develop gross and fine motor skills, and to move expressively and have fun!
Phonics
Children will be taking part in daily phonics sessions where they will begin learning individual sounds and begin to learn to segment and blend these sounds together.
Literacy
We will be exploring a range of new stories together. The children will begin mark-making and taking part in activities based on these new stories.
Maths
We will be learning about numbers to 5 and begin to subitise (recognise how many without counting).
Understanding the World
The children will be talking about family members and learning about our school community.
Expressive Art and Design
The children will begin exploring mark making using a range of different materials. We will be using key words to describe colours, shapes and texture.

Communication and Language
The children will be able to Express their ideas and feelings about their experiences using full sentences, including use of past, present and future tenses and making use of conjunctions, with modelling and support from their teacher.
Personal Social and Emotional Development
The children should be confident to try new activities and show increasing independence, resilience and perseverance in the face of challenges.
Physical Development
The children should be able to safely move around obstacles and will have improved fine and gross motor skills.
Phonics
Children will be taking part in daily phonics sessions where they will begin learning individual sounds and begin to learn to segment and blend these sounds together.
Literacy
The children will continue to explore new stories and begin writing CVC words and simple sentences with support.
Maths
The children will be consolidating their knowledge of numbers to 10 and also of shapes and patterns in their environment.
Understanding the World
The children will be exploring celebrations from around the world and talking about their own expleriences.
Expressive Art and Design
The children will continue to explore shape and patterns, explore the use of different materials and mark making strategies. They should be able to talk about their creations and the processes they have used.
Mark making and Writing
Please ensure the children are having opportunities to mark make at home. Drawing, colouring and name writing are all great ways to support pencil grip.
Talking and Listening
Have lots of conversations—during meals, in the car, or on walks
Ask open-ended questions like “What was your favourite part of today?”
Encourage your child to explain their ideas and feelings.
Independence Skills
Encourage your child to dress themselves and manage their belongings
Practise using the toilet independently and washing hands properly
Support routines like tidying up after play
Visit your local library
Having access to so many books helps children to develop a love of reading by being able pick books to match their interests
Choosing their own books gives children a sense of independence and makes reading feel like an adventure rather than a chore
