Hello! I’m Danielle Stocks and this is my 25th year teaching music!  A native of Wilkes County, NC, I attended Wilkes Central High School and went on to get a bachelor's degree in Music Education from Appalachian State University with a minor in art. I first became acquainted with Alexander County while student teaching at Alexander Central High School. My first job was teaching elementary school music in Wilkes. Shortly after, I began teaching chorus at Central Wilkes Middle School. I then went on to earn my masters in Choral Conducting, also from Appalachian State University. After teaching 4 years in Wilkes, I got married, moved, and began teaching at West Alexander Middle School where I have been ever since! 

I love music, spending time with family and friends,  great food, traveling, and any kind of crafting (crocheting, knitting, painting, drawing). My favorite sports are basketball and football (always cheering on the ASU Mountaineers). I live in Taylorsville with my husband, two sons (Ethan -19 and Jamison - 16), and our dog Barkley.I love teaching music and hope that my students enjoy the time we spend together making music and memories. I hope my students feel a sense of community and belonging while in the choral program. Making music together is such a unique experience and I am glad to be a part of it!
