Freshmen qualify for membership if they were inducted into Junior Beta Club in middle school and finished the year in good-standing with their club. Membership for students beginning their sophomore, junior, or senior year requires that students have a 3.75 grade point average. This grade point average must be maintained throughout the remainder of their school year(s).
Beta Club members are required to complete at least 25 hours of service each school year. They must participate in at least 1 service project sponsored by the club each semester.
Beta Club members are required to attend at least 5 out of the 9 monthly meetings. If they do not attend five meetings, they will be required to complete 30 service hours instead of 25.

Article II (Purpose)
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the ideals of honesty, service, morality, ethical conduct, and leadership among elementary and secondary school students; to reward meritorious academic achievement; and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.
Article II (Membership)
Section 2. Student Membership Qualifications
…. Membership is a privilege and not a right. The qualifications for membership on the part of the student shall be: (a) worthy, moral and ethical character; (b) exemplary achievement, and (c) commendable attitude.
…. Since the purpose of the organization is to select, honor, and encourage students possessing these characteristics, it shall be within the province of the administration of each school to set up such local standards of membership as shall best serve to bring together in the chapter students who merit distinction because of these qualifications. All students must be performing at or above grade level in order to be eligible for membership….Students must maintain a weighted GPA of 3.75 (each semester) to stay in good standing with the club at Alexander Central High. Failure to do so will result in the student being placed on probation and given 1 semester to rectify their situation. If they are unsuccessful, membership from the club will be dropped.
....Students must complete at least 25 hours of service in a school year and attend 5 meetings OR 30 hours with 4 meetings or less. These number of hours should also contain at least 1 (one) in-club service project each semester. In-club service projects are included on the in-club service sign up sheet. Students will be put on service probation for the following reasons: Not completing the required number of hours for the year (25 or 30); Not completing at least 1 in-club project in the fall semester. Members on probation in the fall need to complete 15 total hours of service including at least 1 in-club project. Members on probation in the spring need to complete all (25 or 30) hours including at least 2 in-club projects. For service projects, a member should complete at least 1 in-person project before purchasing items needed for any in-club project. Purchases for in-club projects equal 1 hour per $5 spent, with a maximum of 5 hours per semester earned from expenditures.
.....Students can receive a maximum of 10 hours for service performed on their own over the summer
Section 8. Disqualification and Reinstatement
Since the National Beta Club is a merit organization, members who fail to maintain an exemplary record, or who engage in personal conduct unbecoming members of the Beta Club, may be disqualified from membership pursuant to policies developed by the National Board of Directors.
Article IV (Meetings)
Section 1. Chapter Meetings
Each local chapter of the Club shall meet at least once a month.
