With you as you write a new page in your story
The mission of Aleph is to create a safe space for ethnic minorities to access wellbeing support. This follows an increase in demand for therapeutic services for members of ethnic communities which cater to their unique needs.
What does "Aleph" mean?
Aleph is the first letter of the Arabic alphabet, my mother tongue (written أ). The equivalent of the letter A. The name is an ode to the first letter I ever learnt, the start of my learning journey, a reflection of my heritage, and as a symbol of our continual writing of new pages in our stories as we grow and develop.
How does Aleph cater to ethnic minorities?
At Aleph, exercising cultural humility will be at the forefront of our work. We will navigate the difficulties you experience holistically alongside your beliefs and traditions. It will be safe to openly discuss spirituality without judgement, and to integrate your norms into therapy without transgression. You are welcome, whether you are a new immigrant, a refugee, an asylum seeker, or a part of the diaspora walking in two worlds (which I personally relate to). You also do NOT have to be an ethnic minority to access Aleph, if this approach sounds like it would suit you, then you are more than welcome.
