Who am I?
Coach Sweat here. I began playing golf at 12 years old. I fell in love with the game and quickly became a 1 sport athlete.
I played golf in high school and received a full scholarship to play golf for Prairie View A&M University Men's Golf Team.
I made team captain my Sophomore year and remained the teams captain until I graduated with a degree in Biology in 1999.
Path to Making College Ready Golfers
1. (Level 1...Black Cap) Join The Golf Team and regularly attend practice.
2. (Level 2....Silver Cap) Player shoots 60 or lower from 100 yards.
3. (Level 3...Gold Cap) Player shoots 50 or lower from 100 yards.
4. (Level 4...Green Cap) Player shoots 40 or lower from 100 yards.
4. (Level 5..College Path) Players shoots 34 or lower from white tees.
Eagle Golf Mission
I understand that many of my students may have never played golf before. I challenge all students to try something new. There is a saying, "It's not where you start, it's where you finish."
Top 5 Reasons to play golf
1. It's a challenge. Golf is considered one of the hardest sports to learn.
2. Enjoyable exercise. In golf, you are constantly standing, and can choose to walk the course.
3. It builds life lessons. Golf teaches you to be humble, aggressive and focused.
4. It's a business leverage. Golf is the businessman's game.
5. Anyone can play. Golf may be the most democratic sport of all.
