My Teaching Philosophy:
I believe that physical education enriches students’ lives by providing exposure to a variety of learning experiences that do not organically occur in the classroom. It is my goal as a physical educator to create a learning environment that is creative, fun, supportive, challenging and enhances leadership and self-efficacy. I believe that students who are physically and mentally healthy are more prepared to meet daily challenges and make appropriate healthy lifestyle choices that will affect them and those around them for their lifetime
I have two masters degrees in Education and a bachelor's degree in Physical Education. I have experience teaching Pre-K through graduate level students. I have served with my husband in ministry for over 25 years and now also have the wonderful ministry of teaching students P.E.! When I'm not teaching, you can find me competing in triathlons, running with my dog, drinking coffee or reading. Whatever this year may look like, I will be there to encourage, support, and guide families towards a life filled with positivity, fun, fitness, and healthy choices!
Let's GO!
For the safety of your student, and for maximum participation and benefit, I ask that your child wears athletic shoes for gym class. Feel free to keep a pair of shoes in their cubby so they are prepared to participate when they have gym class.

T- TRY YOUR BEST
A - ATTITUDE + EFFORT = SUCCESS

Food fuels us! Making wise choices about our food affects how we think, feel, and perform. Drinking lots of water and getting the right amount of protein, fruits, and vegetables keeps our bodies balanced. The better we eat, the better we feel! The better we feel, the more we can enjoy life to the fullest!
No matter what sport interests you, it is important to find a way to be active every day! East Tennessee offers so many ways to be healthy and enjoy the outdoors. Kayaking, tennis, hiking, football, frisbee, jump rope, basketball, running, biking, even just taking your dog for a walk will help improve your mood and your physical endurance.
It takes teamwork to make the dreamwork! We all need each other, and finding ways to support and encourage others towards achieving their potential shows maturity and intelligence. Win or lose, how we play the game is so important. People will remember your attitude more than your performance. In P.E. class we will build confidence and character!
