Band Vision

In 2022, the new performing arts facility will open. We will have a dedicated and improved rehearsal space for band, and a greatly improved performance venue.

To match these excellent new facilities, I have a vision of this band program growing in excellence. The facets of this include:

• Growth in band enrollment

• Growth in opportunities and needs for peer leadership, particularly at the high school level

• Improved excellence in playing, and more engaging and challenging repertoire

• Renewal of the marching band program

• Enjoyable pep band performances

• Strong jazz band program

• Off-campus performances for marching band and jazz band

• Improved engagement of the whole community and the band – going both ways

None of these goals will come quickly or easily, and all of them will require a strong commitment, but I have confidence that this is an achievable and worthwhile vision. To me, these are the things moving forward that will give Alburnett students the band program they deserve, and everything that comes with that.

While the changes made necessary by the Novel Coronavirus certainly don't make any of these things easier, I'm incredibly hopeful that we can still start to make progress on all of these goals.
