My name is Shannon McGraw. I am a special education teacher at Alburnett Elementary. I grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a major in elementary education and a minor in special education. This will be my first year teaching at Alburnett and I am very excited to join this wonderful community of Pirates!
I love to travel! My favorite place to visit is Hawaii. In fact, I even spent a whole summer there!
I was a competitive dancer for 10 years. My favorite genres were jazz, tap and hip-hop. I also was on the UNI Sparkles Cheerleading team to cheer on the Panthers!
My mom was a librarian and helped me find books that I loved! I am always looking for opportunities to learn something new and grow as an educator and person!
