This is my seventh year at Alburnett. I taught Title 1 Reading my first year, and first grade for four years. This is my second year teaching kindergarten. Along with teaching kindergarten, I am a Teacher Development Coach for the elementary. I also coach junior high volleyball and girls’ high school track.
I graduated from Coe College in 2011 with my BA in elementary education, and earned my masters from Morningside College in December 2015. My husband, Phil, and I live in Marion with our cat, Shadow. I like to share funny stories with students about Shadow, so I’m sure you will be hearing about him a lot throughout the year! Teaching is my passion, and I love coming to work each day. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking, working out, and traveling. My husband and I went to Ireland this summer, and France and Italy the year before!
