Choosing Kindness
This week in Positive Education, Year 7 students will be introduced to research that demonstrates how choosing to be kind to oneself and others leads to improved mental health and improvedsocial and personal outcomes in and beyond school.
Connection and Resilience
This week in Positive Education, students will begin their study of Rabbit-Proof Fence. Whilst watching, they will be considering how connection to family, culture, and land can be a powerful source of strength and resistance in the face of injustice.
What is communication?
Over the next three lessons, Year 9 students will take a closer look at what successful communication looks like in today's world. In this week's lesson, students will practise their active listening skills and work in small groups to unpack effective communication.
Relationships
This week in Positive Education, Year 10 students will look at how their personal relationships can be strengthened. They will reflect on what makes a relationship stronger and what can hinder a relationship. They will develop tools for maintaining helathy and positive relationships in their lives, examining these from others' perspectives to help develop their emotional literacy.
Tertiary Study
This week in Positive Education, Year 11 students will be supported in understanding the different tertiary options available. By the end of the lesson, they will understand different degrees and training types available and will be using this knowledge to decide what type of tertiary study might be appropriate for their career goals.
Year Level Assembly
This week in Positive Education, Year 12 students will have a year level assembly.
