Governor Dunleavy recently said: “Full disclaimer, I’m a tier one retiree. I was a teacher,” Dunleavy told reporters, referring to his own pension. “But younger folks appear to be less interested in that.” This petition is your opportunity to show that you ARE interested in a pension. Alaska Public Pension Coalition polling shows that a solid majority or 68% of Alaskans agree that a modest pension plan for public employees is an essential tool in recruitment and retention. In 2020 the National Institute of Retirement Security (NIRS) did an opinion study with millennials employed in state and local government service. Their survey data reveals that millennials working in state and local government are highly supportive of pensions, and they see the advantages of their benefits beyond retirement Sign this petition today to show that you want a pension, or that you support Alaska public servants earning a modest pension for their career in public service.
