Post to social media about what it means to you to be the first in your family to earn a college degree. Use the hashtag #FirstGenAK to connect with other first-gen members of the UAF community and follow #CelebrateFirstGen2021 to connect with first-gen folks from across the country!

This year, Giving Day is highlighting the UAF First-Gen initiatives. The Social Power Hour is a chance for donors to put money towards programming, scholarships, and more!

Thomas Hughes, a Design Engineer will be sharing his experience as a First Generation college student. This event is sponsored by EPSCoR and highlights STEM experiences. We will be providing free lunch to students who RSVP!

Poetry Slam
6:30 pm | Arctic Java
Join us for a night of art and poetry highlighting the first-gen experience and bring our week-long celebrations to a close! Hosted by our very own Donald Crocker. Art developed by local first-gen students will be on display!
