About me

I am a Research Associate Professor at the Alaska Volcano Observatory, part of the Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. My research focuses on the petrology of volcanic rocks, emphasizing the dynamics of magma processes at active volcanoes. My educational background combines igneous petrology, experimental petrology, analytical techniques, and remote sensing—skills instrumental in studying and monitoring volcanoes in Alaska and Kamchatka. During the summer, I conduct field research and teach at the International Volcanological Field School.
