I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science & mathematics from a small liberal arts college, a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, a year of experience at the UAF Geophysical Institute, and a summer robotics engineering internship at a circular manufacturing startup. My computer science (CS) grades range from A- (Combinatorial Algorithms) to A (Computer Architecture & Organization, 100%).
My first research internship with Professor Aaron Williams culminated in honors awarded for my bachelor's senior thesis and a publication in the European Journal of Combinatorics; my later research with Dr. Williams was also presented at the 33rd Canadian Conference on Computational Geometry in 2021. My research on the Dynamics of Neural Networks with Dr. Harold Hastings culminated in a presentation at the International Conference on Applications in Nonlinear Dynamics in 2016. After that, my co-author presented our research on transfer learning at the Fall Western Sectional Meeting of the American Mathematical Society (#1153) in 2019. Next, I presented my zero-shot transfer learning research with Assistant CS Professor Mike Izbicki at the 2019 Southern California Natural Language Processing Symposium. This informed my interest in machine learning, particularly via deep neural networks.
My interests broadly lie in computer science, artificial intelligence, cyber security and the information sciences.Â
