The Alaska Geophysics Arctic Observing Network will produce a diverse set of large data streams. The majority of these are continuous year-over-year time series. Metadata is an integral part of any dataset. Both the raw data as well as the metadata needed to appropriately contextualize it are publicly available.

The IRIS Data Management Center
The University of Alaska Fairbanks, through the Alaska Earthquake Center, maintains real-time data flow to the IRIS Data Management Center. All time-series data (weather, infrasound, and seismic) from these stations are streamed in near-real-time to the IRIS Data Management Center.
MesoWest
MesoWest streams weather-related data from the IRIS Data Management Center into its own archives. This greatly expands data access since most researchers in the climate and meteorology communities do not use the data formats and protocols operated by IRIS. MesoWest also downsamples the data rates to match existing community standards.
National Snow and Ice Data Center
Soil temperature data is not acquired in real-time. These data are collected periodically during site visits and will be transferred to the NSIDC for permanent archiving. To increase dissemination, they are also served online through the NSF Arctic Data Center as well as the UAF Permafrost Lab website.
National Science Foundation Arctic Data Center
The NSF Arctic Data Center provides straightforward mechanisms for ensuring strong data discovery. Because of the large nature of many of the USArray data channels, the Arctic Data Center is likely to contain just metadata and appropriate identifiers for data that reside in other repositories. In the case of soil temperature profilers, we will likely deposit full processed data series as static downloadable files at the Arctic Data Center, in keeping with current practice.
