Behind every donation, there are people. There are stories. Challenges. Successes. Connections. Meaning. Love. Why and where we give shows who we are, how we want to be a part of shaping the future, where our heart lies.
Those of us who work for and support UAF can always build relationships with those who want to have meaningful connections to our university, and give them opportunities to be a part of our story. Here are some useful tips to engage with donors:
Contact the UAF Development Team with any fundraising ideas; they are experts in this arena. This team assists UAF departments in reaching their strategic goals that need to be funded with donations.
Give donors special opportunities to engage and connect: share information about upcoming events.
Direct folks to our giving page regularly.
Tell them the story of how their financial support made a difference, to the program or to a student.
Thank your donors. Listen to the stories that made a difference in their lives, and appreciate that they are choosing to make a difference at UAF. Their stories may inspire others to get involved and give back to the university.
Finally: what’s your story? Why did you choose UAF? Sharing our stories, connecting with donors, and amplifying relationships are great ways to show UAF some love in February.
