Connect scientists, educators, resource managers and community members to expand our understanding of berries in a changing world.
Provide information to resource managers, policy makers, berry eaters and educators about how important berries are responding and may respond to climate change.
Work with researchers and community members to identify information needs and knowledge gaps.
Promote active research and spread citizen science projects, providing opportunities to students and others to monitor berries and contribute to science
Enhance understanding of berry ecology.
Berry booklets for community members and resource managers are accessible, illustrated descriptions of each species, the threats it faces from climate change, and the opportunities for increasing berry production. Each booklet also includes a summary of knowledge gaps for current and future berry researchers. We hope this will serve as inspiration for future research projects.
A Zotero literature database for researchers that provides scientific source information for all of our documents. The database includes more than 600 references, with with emphasis on cloudberry (Rubus chamaemorus), bog blueberry (Vaccinium uliginosum), lowbush cranberry (V. vitis-idaea), crowberry (Empetrum nigrum), or salmonberry (R. spectabilis). This is a public resource, so please add more references. Please TAG references with, at a minimum, the scientific name and the topic (e.g., Vaccinium vitis-idaea, pollination).
