Please take our survey! If you are 18 or older and currently living in Alaska, you are eligible.

There are questions about your background, your relationship to foraging, and questions about your knowledge of specific plants. The goal is not to collect "correct answers," but to understand public knowledge of poisonous plants and how that varies. Please consider taking the survey even if you are new to Alaska or know little about plants.
The survey is online, takes 5-10 minutes to complete, and enters you in a drawing for a $50 Fred Meyer gift certificate.
The survey is open March 1 - April 30 2026. More information about specific plants will be available from this site after the close of the survey.
We hope to garner 200-300 responses from a broad variety of Alaskans. The survey is capped at 2000 responses.
If you've already taken the survey, thank you so much. Please consider sharing it with your friends and neighbors--especially if you live outside of Anchorage or Fairbanks. Images & fliers to share are to the right, links are below.
