Connecting and supporting Indigenous UA teacher alumni teaching in Alaska’s schools
As the UAF School of Education works to support Alaska Natives graduates pursuing a career in education, we would like to offer continued support through a newly formed Alaska Indigenous Teacher Network (AITN).
Our goals for the Alaska Indigenous Teacher Network include:
Build community
Offer venues to share and create resources and strategies for Indigenous teaching and learning in K12 schools
Sponsor AITN members attending conferences
Support in-state gatherings and cohort building
Advocacy for Alaska Native teachers and learners
Connect pre-service Alaska Native teachers with practicing Alaska Native teachers
As we move forward to build the AITN network, we will use data and feedback from our inagural cohort to inform our future efforts and activities.
