Attention MVMS Parents!

Please go to your student's registration on PowerSchool and review all of the information to make certain it is correct. If you need to make changes, please do so. If you have no changes, check for errors. Either way you MUST submit the registration for it to update for the current year...again, even if you have no changes...otherwise your student will not show as registered on our end. If you have already taken this step, thank you so much! Please contact us if you have any questions and thank you for helping us make this school year great!!

Please review the following map to reference designated arrival and departure locations. Utilize these areas as follows: green student drop off and pick up, yellow buses only, and red limited mobility.

We look forward to efficient arrival and departure while partnering with families and students of MVMS!

Mountain View Middle School

Pam Renteria, Principal

500 South Washington Ave.

Alamogordo, NM 88310

Welcome to the 2021 - 22 School Year at Mountain View Middle School! It is my pleasure to be able to serve as your principal this year and I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students, parents, and guardians. Our return to school is a matter of great happiness for me and the staff.

I have worked at Alamogordo Public Schools for twenty-four years. First, as an English teacher for twenty years at Alamogordo High School, then as an assistant principal there for four years. I could not be more excited to join the Mountain View family as I continue to serve the community I care for so much. My parents instilled in me a deep respect for the benefit of public education and I have carried that with me throughout my career. I believe that if we work together our students can accomplish their goals and dreams to strengthen our school, district and community.

Our mission at Mountain View Middle School is to foster a love of learning in a safe, respectful, and equitable environment. Students will be encouraged to challenge themselves academically and thrive as learners; building confidence in their own capabilities through individual effort, as well as working cooperatively with other students and staff to push beyond what is expected or anticipated. We are committed to sound practices, exploration and creativity. Students will hone talents already recognized and discover new and untapped strengths in themselves. Our teachers will be encouraged to introduce new technologies and practices that build life-long learners and learn themselves as we all move forward in education.

We have been through a great deal over the last eighteen months, but it is my most fervent hope that the challenges faced in that time have strengthened our commitment to our own well-being and that of our community; that we find joy and excitement in the return to school and bring our best selves to that beginning. Our students will find us prepared, energized and welcoming. You can be assured of strong and continuous two-way communication, consistent expectations, and relationships built on trust and mutual respect.

Looking forward to an amazing year!

Respectfully,

Pam Renteria

Email Update

Message from Alamogordo Public School to inform you of an upcoming change to your child's email address. To protect the privacy of our students, we changed the email address format last year for new students. Now we are changing the email address for existing students that do not already have an address in the new format. If your child has an email address that starts with a year, then they will be issued a new email. If their email address does not begin with a year, then there is no change.

The new email addresses have already been sent to the students current email address. Please have them login before August 1st to get their new email address. Their teachers will be able to provide this information as well, if you are not able to login to check their email before August 1st.

The student passwords will not change, even if their email address does change.
