UFLI Parent Resources

UFLI Foundations is an explicit and systematic reading program developed by the University of Florida Literacy Institute. This program introduces students to the foundational reading skills they need to become proficient readers.  Detailed lesson plans follow an eight-step routine which includes:

4. Blending Drill

5. New Concept

6. Word Work

7. Irregular Words

8. Connected Text

Students receive homework practice sheets to help parents support their student's learning growth at home.  Information on how to use homework practice sheets and alphabet tiles to support student's homework is included below.

Alphabet Resource Tiles

This alphabet resource tiles can be printed, cut apart and used to help with the Word Work Chain part of the homework.  Other types of alphabet letters like magnetic letters or letter tiles could also be used.
