2018 Winter Outreach

2018 Winter Outreach February 16 - 19, 2018


We would like to invite all Adventurers, Challengers, Leaders and Parents to participate in this year’s Winter Outreach program. The location is in a random camp area within view of Mt. Baldy near Nordegg. What a great opportunity to test your outdoor skills and knowledge. Doug Latimer will join us for the weekend, which means there will be tons of information and lots of great stories to share with us.

The plan for the weekend it to arrive on the Friday night and ski or hike into the camp area where you will help to set up some of the wall tents for the night. After a cozy night’s sleep, you will divide into two groups: half will go with Doug for the day (on an adventure or to the summit of Mt. Baldy or both) while the other half builds their own shelters (on their own without adult assistance unless requested). If you like you can stay in your own shelter for the night! The next day the groups will exchange activities.

Do you want to test your knowledge of winter skills? Then this is the camp for you!! We will have terrific meals and tents for your comfort away from home. The Outreach Committee is excited about offering you the opportunity to do things on your own. Come and join us for this unique opportunity!

COST: Only $95.00 per participant! Includes: food, cross-country skis, shared transportation and more fun and adventure than most people ever have!

This adventure could be used for your Duke of Edinburgh Awards program.

Payment Options: $95.00 Online via Paypal (credit card), club cheque or e-transfer to Treasurer@ajfwa.ca (password "AJFWA2017").

**Your registration is not confirmed until full payment has been received and payment must be received prior to the event date.

Cancellation Policy: The outreach coordinators reserve the right to cancel or amend the outreach program based on weather, availability of guides/instructors or unforeseen events. If the program is cancelled, refunds will be issued. Cancellations by a participant before January 30, 2018 will be subject to a 20% non-refundable fee. NO refunds will be given on cancellations AFTER January 30, 2018, unless for medical reasons, at the discretion of the Committee and Board Policy.
