Winter Outreach February 17-19, 2017 Mount Edith Cavell

Join us this weekend for a lively adventure in Jasper National Park. Experience the majestic Mount Edith Cavell area by cross country skis with Rockaboo Mountain Adventures. You will feel like you are skiing through a postcard or calendar photo. Hands-on forestry exploration with our own JFW forestry expert, Ross Maxwell.

Welcome to the Athabasca Falls Wilderness Hostel (30 km south of Jasper on Hwy 93). Stay overnight Friday at the Athabasca Falls Hostel, and on Saturday, we will ski approximately 11 km to the HI Mt. Edith Cavell Hostel (uphill all the way!!) for 2 nights stay at this wilderness hostel nestled in the narrow valley below Mt. Edith Cavell. Cost is only $195 per person for this fantastic wilderness zen experience!

By day, we will explore this majestic area with spectacular views of Mt. Edith Cavell, Cavell & Angel Glaciers and the Tonquin Valley. By night, we will enjoy a rustic “off the grid” hostelling experience with fresh well water, private outhouses and solar-powered lights. No internet, no cell service, just the forest cabin that you have always dreamed of ... getting to know each other and playing games.

Participant Information packages will be provided after registration is complete. Meals are included and prepared by our Chef Susie! **Please inform us of dietary concerns as soon as possible so that the appropriate meals can be prepared!! Skis are generously provided by the Yellowhead Regional Council. Transportation to and from these programs may be available if the participant is en route to the Outreach course from Edmonton or Calgary. If not, participants must find their own ride to a point on the Outreach route or directly to the Hostel.

Payment Options: $195.00 Online via Paypal (credit card), club cheque or e-transfer to Treasurer@ajfwa.ca (password "Winter").

Payment must be received prior to the event date.

Cancellation Policy: The outreach coordinators reserve the right to cancel or amend the outreach program based on weather, availability of guides/instructors or unforeseen events. If the program is cancelled, refunds will be issued. Cancellations on behalf of the participants before January 30, 2017 will be subject to a 20% non-refundable fee. NO refunds will be given on cancellations AFTER January 30, 2017, unless for medical reasons.
