A-JCHS History Archive

The above photo taken in the 1940s shows part of the former campus, specifically buildings Bar-San Hall and Benton Hall. These buildings were removed in the late 1970s when the existing building was constructed.

The mission of this project is to preserve Anna-Jonesboro Community High School historical documents in a format for all to access and appreciate. On this site you will find links to a digital archive of the history of A-JCHS, including the former Union Academy, old campus, annuals/yearbooks, and more.

This project was initiated by Amy Penninger, teacher at A-JCHS, along with staff member Brad Stamp, with the assistance of students digitally scanning materials. It is an ongoing project which will be updated as the archive is developed; while we strive for accuracy, we realize we may need to make corrections. Browse documents and images by clicking on the links for each page. If you see any errors, please contact us at the email provided below. Thank you for your interest in A-JCHS history and visit again for updates!

Some information and photos are taken from this site which contains other community history, too.
