Ms. Hannah Maze began teaching at A-JCHS in the 2013-2014 school year. She is a graduate of Goreville High School, Shawnee Community College (2006), and Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (2009). Ms. Maze currently teaches Civics, Government and U.S. History. She serves as a cooperating teacher with the SIU College of Education, and serves on various committees at A-J, and is currently working with the McCormick Foundation to bring service learning into Southern Illinois. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, game nights, and enjoys spoiling her nieces and nephew. Ms. Maze lives in Goreville on a small farm with two adorable pups.

Mrs. Amy Penninger began teaching at A-JCHS in the 2008-2009 school year. She is a graduate of A-J, Southeast Missouri State University (B.S. in Middle & Secondary Ed., Social Studies, 2007), and Southern Illinois University- Carbondale (M.S. in Ed., Social Studies Curriculum & Instruction, 2019). At A-J she serves as the Social Studies Department Chair and currently teaches Geography, U.S. History, and AP U.S. History. She sponsors Beta Club, serves as a cooperating teacher with the SIU College of Education, and serves on various committees at A-J. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling. Mrs. Penninger lives in rural Jonesboro with her husband, Michael, and two sons, Brayden and Blake.

Mr. Aaron Roberts has been teaching at A-JCHS since the 2019-2020 school year. Prior to that, he spent 7 years teaching social studies at Anna Junior High. Originally from Chatham, IL, Mr. Roberts attended Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, where he played for the Saluki Baseball team and graduated with a history-education degree in 2011. He has been married to his wife, Kristen, since 2012, and together they have two boys, Lincoln and Riggins. His hobbies include reading, cooking (grilling), and rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. Mr. Roberts currently teaches World History and Psychology at AJCHS and serves as the Wildcat head baseball coach.
