Hi everyone.  I'm Kelly, or "Ms Thomas" as the students call me.  

I have travelled a lot in my life.  My favourite experience was living in Japan, teaching young children English in a conversation school.  I love Japanese anime.

My footy team is the Tigers.  Football - English Premier League, my team is Arsenal.

Rugby League - well I am from New Zealand so its the Warriors for me.

This is my third year of teaching and I love it.  We have a great team at Aitken Creek and I look forward to meeting everyone!

Hi everyone, I'm Miss Y and I'm so excited to be teaching Year 1 in 2024. 

This is my first year teaching and I'm really looking forward to it. 

I enjoy spending a lot of time with my family and especially my sister since we have a lot of shared hobbies. 

I love to read and bake in my spare time. I also love listening to music and travelling.

Hi all, I'm Ms Newman from 1D!

I'm excited to join the Year 1 team in 2024.  This is my 5th year teaching after returning to Uni as a mature-age student.  

I have a background in fitness and love to read about personal development and health in my spare time. 

I have 4 teen/adult children and 2 grandchildren!  I play alto saxophone and sing and love to sing and dance in the classroom.

Hello everyone, my name is Maryam Fareed, this is my first year at ACPS and I am looking forward to guiding the children through a year of growth and learning.

 Outside of the classroom, I have a passion for cats, traveling, and exploring new cultures, which often inspires my teaching approach, bringing a sense of adventure and curiosity into our learning environment. I love spending time with my family, as well as going for a walk with my sisters. 

 I am committed to open communication and partnering with you to make this year a truly rewarding experience for the children. Looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!

MR Lacey - 1f

Hi! I'm Conor Lacey and I'm the classroom teacher of 1F (alongside Mrs. Hattie)! This is my 6th year of teaching at Aitken Creek!

I love playing soccer as well as watching it; my favourite team is Arsenal! I also love to read and exercise as often as I can.

I know we're in for an amazing year and I'm excited to share some awesome learning moments with you all!

Kia Ora everyone, I'm Jess Hattie. I have been teaching for 10 years, but this is my first year at ACPS. 

I was born in New Zealand and moved here with my family in 2020. 

I have a wonderful husband who is also a teacher. We have 3 beautiful girls, 8, 5 and 16 months. We also have 2 large and energetic dogs, Thomson and Leia, who keep us very busy!

I play netball on a Friday night and love taking Thomson out for a run. In my spare time, I love to bake with my girls, crochet and sew. 

This year we are going to have so much fun in 1F, I am excited to see how much growth the learners make and chatting with you about their successes.

Hello, my name is Fiona Darmenia. This is my 4th year at ACPS, my second in Year 1. But I have been teaching on and off for just over 30 years. 

I have two children a son, who is 25 this year and my daughter who will be 10. We also have a dog, (a husky) named Lunar.

I enjoy going for walks with Lunar, reading, baking,  listening to music, arts and crafts activities and spending time with my family.

I am eagerly looking forward to teaching my class this year and always welcome a chat.
