Meet Your Teacher
Welcome to the 2nd grade. I am Sidney McClain, and I have the privilege of serving as your 2nd grade instructor for the upcoming academic year. This marks a significant milestone in my career, as it will be my fifth year teaching at this grade level. I taught for four years in the United States and this will be my first year teaching at American International School of Monrovia (AISM).Â
I was born in Liberia and moved to the U.S when I was in the 4th grade. My love for learning and the process of development has grown immensely throughout the years. My academic pursuits spanned in the acquisition of a Teaching License for grades K-6 alongside a Master's degree in Teaching from Augsburg University in Minnesota.
The personal and intellectual growth of my students is a source of great joy for me. Drawing parallels from my experience coaching soccer for seven years, I've come to value not only the destination but also the journey of individual development. While the end result is undoubtedly important, I find the process of getting there to be even more rewarding.
I look forward to a year filled with meaningful communication, collaboration, and significant academic achievements together.
