Event Overview

You are warmly invited to attend all ISSEA events. Please explore the rest of this website for schedules, information, emergency contacts, and additional details. Guest WiFi will be available during the event (see password above).

The Opening Ceremony will take place at 08:00 on Thursday. When planning your transportation, please note that traffic around the school can be heavy, particularly in the morning. Please consult with your hotel staff about the best time to depart.

Facilities and Spaces

Events will be held on our main campus. You are welcome to visit our PTA-sponsored Coaches, Chaperone & Parent Lounge in MT3 whenever you need a break or refreshments. 

You are also welcome to explore the campus, especially our library, cafeteria, and the Café Sol coffee shop. There is an ATM on campus in case you need any cash. I hope you will also take some time to wander around to enjoy the many beautiful pieces of student artwork that are on display all around our campus.

Safety and Wellbeing

Maputo is a welcoming and friendly city. The area around the school is generally safe. As in any major city, we encourage you to use common sense by avoiding the display of valuables and remaining aware of your surroundings. Below, you'll find recommendations for local restaurants and other places to explore.

Walking along the beachfront or the wide seaside path known as the Marginal is a pleasant and safe daytime activity. Many residents enjoy running and exercising there. 

Sportsmanship

We are committed to modeling excellent behavior for our students. It is mandatory that all ISSEA visitors review and follow the ISSEA Spectator Code of Conduct, also linked above. Kindly take a few minutes to review and submit it before you join us for the Visual Arts and Drama Festival.

Appreciation

Hosting an event like this requires a small army of staff and volunteers. Please join me in thanking our Activities (ILD) Team, maintenance and cleaning staff, PTA, Booster Club, student organizing committee, student ambassadors, host families, Communications team, IT team, and everyone else who have been working so hard to create a memorable experience.
