Thank you to our amazing PTA & Booster Club & our many sponsors & vendors!
I am thrilled to welcome you to the American International School of Mozambique and to ISSEA Football 2026. I hope you enjoy our Buffalo hospitality and the beauty and spirit of our host country, Mozambique. If there is anything we can do to support your stay, please let us know.
I have been part of ISSEA since 2007, and it has been a privilege to witness its growth from six schools and three events to the vibrant network of eight schools and eleven events we celebrate today. Over the years, I have come to deeply value what I see as the four pillars of ISSEA: Challenge, Competition, Friendship, and Fair Play.
ISSEA creates powerful moments for students to stretch themselves, whether through spirited matches or the intensity of a championship game. The level of play is inspiring, and it calls each participant to give their very best. At the same time, what makes ISSEA truly special is the sense of community that surrounds the competition. The friendships formed here often endure long after the final whistle, connecting students across schools, cultures, and years. This creates a spirit of camaraderie and fair play that is both rare and meaningful.
I hope your time in Maputo and at AISM is filled with memorable experiences, meaningful connections, and special moments that capture the magic of ISSEA.
Sincerely,
Dr. Russ Menard
Hoyo-hoyo to ISSEA Football at AISM
On behalf of the American International School of Mozambique, it is our pleasure to welcome all players, coaches, officials, and supporters to ISSEA Football 2026. We are proud to be hosting this event for the first time and excited to bring together our ISSEA community here in Maputo.
Welcome to Mozambique, to AISM, and to this year’s ISSEA Football Championship.
It is a privilege to be able to host this event and to host such a talented group of footballers, coaches, and supporters from our larger ISSEA community.
Football has a unique way of connecting people across schools, cultures, and countries. Over the coming days, we hope this tournament is about more than just results. It is an opportunity for our student-athletes to compete with purpose, represent their schools with pride, and build friendships that extend well beyond the final whistle.
ISSEA events are a celebration of both performance and character. We encourage all athletes to play with intensity, to respect their opponents and officials, and support one another throughout the tournament. These ISSEA Moments, on and off the pitch, are often what stay with students long after the games are finished.
To our visiting schools, thank you for making the journey to join us. To our coaches, staff, officials, and volunteers, thank you for the care and effort that makes events like this possible.
We wish all teams a competitive, enjoyable, and memorable tournament.
Welcome to AISM, and welcome to the home of the Buffalos.

For 27 years, ISSEA has represented more than just competition. It has been, and continues to be, an opportunity to celebrate sportsmanship, commitment, community, and the shared values that unite our schools. Over the coming days, we hope you will experience not only high quality football, but also the sense of community, respect, and friendship that make ISSEA events special.
To our athletes: compete with passion, integrity, and pride in your teams and schools. To our coaches: thank you for the countless hours you invest in developing both the skills and character of these young people. To our visitors: we hope you feel welcomed and supported throughout your time here. And to our host staff, students, and volunteers: thank you for the countless hours you have put in to make our guests feel special and to make this event a success.
We are proud to showcase our Buffalo Spirit and hope you get a chance to experience the special community we have at AISM and to experience the warmth and friendliness of the people and the beautiful country we call home. May this tournament be memorable for the quality of play, the connections made, and the experiences shared.
I wish all the teams the very best of luck!
