Welcome message from Fiona Moss, Secondary School Principal, AISL

A very warm welcome to the land of the AISL Leopards. We are excited to host ISSEA STEAM this year! We hope that you feel our strong sense of community as you move around our campus and engage in what I know will be an interesting and challenging program around the theme of Sustainable Movement.

A lot of hard work has gone into hosting this event and we hope that you take some time to thank those from your school as well as ours for providing you with this fantastic opportunity. I would like to extend a huge thank you to our Facilities team, Activities office (Ms. Nancy, Ms. Christine & our AD Mr. Hancock), as well as our lead teachers Mr. Heathcote, Mr. Gustavo & Mr. Chota. Take advantage of this chance to meet others who share your passions and interests to form those lifelong inter school friendships which ISSEA is famous for.

Have a fantastic time and we hope you return home with wonderful stories of new challenges met and new friendships.

Welcome message from Mike Hancock, Athletics Director, AISL

ISSEA Season 3 offers a dynamic contrast with activities ranging Tennis at ASIM (Maputo, Mozambique), Golf at ISK (Nairobi, Kenya), Football at ICS (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) and STEAM here at AISL, (Lusaka, Zambia) - the Home of the Leopards!

Before anyone reaches for their cell phone and Googles as to what the STEAM acronym is, it is:

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Maths… quite a diverse and eclectic range of subjects that each in their own right is a stand-alone discipline. In many ways, the STEAM students are possibly already developing the next version of the cell phone and or Google. We shall find out soon enough. For now, their focus is building sailing ships, rockets, robots and of course engaging in science and maths their quest for even more knowledge under the theme of: Sustainable Movement. Quite a challenge!

Students as you engage in the above activities, and test your skills against the other ISSEA schools, please find time to engage with each other and our stunning campus here AIS-Lusaka, Zambia.

As always, grasp the above learning opportunities and whatever the result - look your opponent in the eye, give them the respect they deserve and once the final rocket is fired, ship sailed, robot driven - shake hands and congratulate one another and… also your coaches.
