Digital Citizenship & Child Protection

Digital Citizenship

Increased online activity supports children’s learning, socialization and play, but also puts them at heightened risk of online harms such as sexual exploitation and cyberbullying.

It is important that measures to mitigate risks should be balanced with children’s rights to freedom of expression, access to information, and privacy. Keeping children informed and engaged and empowering them with the skills to use the internet safely is a critical line of defence.

NSTeens.org was created through a partnership between Sprint® and the Internet safety experts at NetSmartz® Workshop, a program of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children®.

CSM is a leading force in digital citizenship. It has an entire curriculum for free and tons of other goodies. It is a first stop.
