Part 4 - Reflection -
All students will have to create an online portfolio using google sites. Returning students have already created this portfolio but need to update/add to it with this year's information.
You can find a template for what your google site should look like here. You are free to personalize the look and theme of your google site as much as you like, but make sure that your menu has the same pages as the one in the template.
All returning students will post artifact presentations, or short films on their project in their portfolio.
Examples of student online portfolios:
Introduction: Constructs a Compelling question and explains why answering the compelling question is important on both the global and local levels.
Research: Gathers and organizes essential information from multiple sources that provides evidence reflecting multiple points of view related to the issue.
Analysis: Thoroughly analyzes how the specific issue can manifest itself at local, regional, and global levels over time, identifying its characteristics and causes, and the challenges and opportunities faced by those trying to address the problem.
Connecting: Documents personal involvement with the issue in photos and reflections. This involvement may be in the form of volunteering with a local agency or in organizing and completing an awareness campaign on behalf of the agency.
Conclusion Reflecting on Solutions: generates alternative and innovative solutions, and adapts ideas, including when information is limited or conflicting
Presentation of Learning
Students will present their work to peers and community at the end of the year. This presentation will include all 4 artifacts. The work will be documented and uploaded onto the students portfolio.
