ABOUT ME
HELLO! My name is Melissa Deppe and I started teaching in 2005. I've always wanted to be a teacher and love helping children learn and grow!
I started out my career teaching third grade in New Braunfels ISD and then moved back to Anahuac, Texas in 2016. At that time my husband and I had a 2 year old and I was a stay at home mom until 2018! I always knew I wanted to get back into the classroom and was thrilled when the opportunity presented itself at Anahuac Elementary School. I myself attended Anahuac ISD and love being back in the community I grew up in.
Outside the classroom, my family keeps me busy and I wouldn't have it any other way. We love fishing, swimming and watching movies together. We watch Superhero movies together and my favorite right now is Guardians of the Galaxy! I also love learning and continue to read education books & blogs.
I love my family, Target, working out, Lemon-Lime Gatorade, reading, the beach, Netflix, Instagram, and being outdoors. I never leave home without my giant YETI cup full of ice water and if I could be transported anywhere RIGHT IN THIS MOMENT, I'd pick St. Croix. I went once with my family and it was the most peaceful and beautiful place I've ever experienced. I LOVE my family the most and our adorable boxer named Stormy.
I earned my teaching degree from Texas State University in San Marcos in 2004 and have enjoyed teaching children ever since. I am also ESL & GT certified. I'm passionate about making learning meaningful, engaging, and fun. I believe in building innovative and inclusive classroom communities and I love creating activities that make learning come alive!
