The curriculum you will follow this year has four Dimensions. Under Dimension 2, you will see FOUR LENSES we will use to focus on the inquiries during the course.
The curriculum you will follow this year has four Dimensions. Under Dimension 2, you will see FOUR LENSES we will use to focus on the inquiries during the course.

You will work in groups using display paper to:
a. Define the four lenses (each group will be assisned a lens)
b. Discuss and note examples of what you think might be appropriate to study through that lens (including things you would like to study!)
c. Using the list of concepts, decide which 10 concepts are most relevant to your lens. If you are stuck on what some of these concepts mean then have a look at this document.
Present to the rest of the class.
In your new Grade Social Studies journal document, collate your notes on the 4 LENSES that we will use in our inquiries in Social Studies this year. You could insert the shared photo of the four charts and write a paragraph on what you see... what concepts show up on more than one chart? do you agree with the concepts that have been assigned to each of the four lenses or do you think others are more appropriate? what overlaps may exist between the lenses? Look at the question at the bottom of this page and consider how the lenses/concepts might help you engage with the AISB mission this year.
