Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is situated along the Danube, in the heart of the Carpathian basin. Visit the following tourist websites for more information about our beautiful city.

Hungary uses the Hungarian Forint (HUF), not the euro. At the time of publication, the exchange rate is approximately 403 HUF/EUR. Please check online for most current rates.
Most locations accept credit/debit cards, but you will need cash for shopping in small markets.
You can use the BudapestGO app to purchase bus and tram tickets. But Budapest is best to be discovered on foot!
Taxis should be ordered in advance and use a meter. We don't have Uber or Lyft, but we do have Bolt. You can download the app and pay online. All taxis in Hungary are required to charge the same rate (published on a sticker on their window).
