Cognitive Coaching Seminar: Part 2
Deepening Cognitive Capacity in Individuals and Organizations
Part 2 continues the Cognitive Coaching Foundational Seminar and is open to participants who have completed Part 1.
This workshop deepens participants’ understanding of how to support the thinking of others through coaching conversations, with dedicated time for review, integration, practice, and feedback. Participants will further develop their use of mediative questions, listening, pausing, paraphrasing, and non-verbal communication.
Student Learning Outcomes
As a result of this course, participants will:
Apply structures for Reflection into Planning and Problem-Resolving conversations.
Explore how cognitive style, perception, and belief systems influence thinking.
Develop skills to invite cognitive shift in the coachee.
Craft mediative questions that access and elevate different States of Mind.
Strengthen awareness of non-verbal communication.
Support coaches in reframing third-party problems in the first person.
Become more metacognitive about their own learning.
The workshop is highly interactive and will include:
Review and integration of Part 1 learning
Small-group and whole-class activities
A variety of learning strategies and protocols that are transferable to classroom settings
Readings from the Cognitive Coaching Learning Guide, 12th Edition
Numerous opportunities for practice and feedback

Ochan Kusuma-Powell
Ochan Kusuma Powell taught for 25 years in international schools, in both regular and special education, and is an international educator and consultant to schools around the world. She has taught across all levels of school and is co-author of several books: on personalizing instruction, developing inclusive schools, organizational intelligence, emotional intelligence and teacher self-supervision. She presents in the areas of coaching, special education, inclusion and collaboration. She is a founding member of the Design Team for the Next Frontier Inclusion, a not-for-profit organization that supports international schools in becoming increasingly inclusive at a systems level.

REFUNDS
Full Refund: A full refund of all registration fees paid will be granted, if requested in writing before November 15, 2026.
Partial Refund: A 75% refund of all registration fees paid will be granted, less a €50 refund processing fee, if requested in writing after November 15, 2026, but before January 9, 2027.
No Refund: No refund will be granted for any cancellation request made after January 9, 2027.
