Hello! I am Vincent Ondima Kongo, a results-oriented data analyst with a profound passion for transforming raw data into actionable insights. My expertise lies in data science and analytics, with a special focus on the climate and health sectors. Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Mathematical Sciences at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in South Africa, affiliated with Stellenbosch University.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Statistics with IT from Maseno University, where I graduated with First Class Honours. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and information technology, enabling me to tackle complex data challenges effectively.
As a freelance data analyst, I have successfully led multiple projects, employing advanced data preparation methodologies and conducting in-depth statistical analyses using tools like R and Python. My work has consistently delivered high-quality datasets and actionable insights to clients. I have also interned as a data analyst at MU-LISA, where I honed my skills in data collection, cleaning, and analysis. Additionally, my role as Deputy Presiding Officer at IEBC and Enumerator at KNBS has further enhanced my data collection and management capabilities.
My research interests are centered around the application of statistical and machine learning models to climate science. I have co-authored significant papers, including a preprint on El Niño-induced droughts and a study on West African monsoon variability, which is currently under review.
