The Department of Physiology, AIIMS Kalyani, successfully hosted "Decoding Life, Series 2", an intensive two-day computational workshop. This event served as a vibrant platform, bringing together an enthusiastic group of young Ph.D. students, Research Scholars, and Postgraduate (PG) and Undergraduate (UG) students from various esteemed colleges and universities across West Bengal.

The workshop was formally inaugurated by the Executive Director, Dean of Academics, Head of the Department of Physiology, and several Distinguished Guests. The ceremony included a symbolic act of watering a plant, signifying the nurturing of knowledge and the participants' aspiration to draw insights from the vast ocean of Bioinformatics, much like a plant drawing water from the soil.

In the current era, a wealth of multi-omics data—including genetic, transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic information—is readily accessible in public repositories such as NCBI, ENSEMBL, and Metabolights. This abundance of open-source data positions clinicians and researchers just one step away from tapping into a massive resource of scientific understanding.

"Decoding Life, Series 2" was designed to be more than just an introduction to Bioinformatics pipelines. Its core objective was to inspire the next generation of learners to cultivate their aptitude for discovery and enhance their innovation skills, ultimately contributing to the vision of a Better India. The workshop successfully equipped attendees with the foundational computational skills necessary to engage with and leverage the expanding domain of biological
