What was it like volunteering with a friend?
Deborah: It was amazing. Working together with John to teach children the importance of team building was one of the things I loved the most. Having to share this experience with someone else was a bonus.
John: It was interesting. Deborah helped me educate the children more effectively, and outside of work, we laughed a lot over the novel experiences we had in the city.
Describe one interesting thing about experiencing a new culture.
Deborah: There was something soothing about the city. The food was great, there were such wide varieties.
John: Definitely the food, I enjoyed almost all of the new foods I tried.
Share a highlight from your experience.
Deborah: Working and relating to the children. It was always exciting to see them work on projects independently and come out with excellent results.
John: The highlight of my experience was watching how fascinated the children were with learning new computer skills. Another highlight was living with my hosts, who were friendly and accommodating.
Would you rather have volunteered alone?
Deborah: Absolutely not!
John: No, volunteering with a friend is much more fun
