The Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award (MHL) is a children’s choice book award sponsored by the Minnesota Youth Reading Awards (MYRA). Each year, middle school students across Minnesota help choose the winning books!
Every April, 10 new nominee books are announced for Division II (grades 6–8).
To vote, you must read at least 3 of the 10 nominees.
Voting takes place in March, and winners are announced in April, along with the nominees for the next year.
You can find Division II nominees:
In the RMS Library
In our eBook Library
At your local public library
Or through other reading resources
If you’re interested in participating:
Talk with Ms. Zelazny, the RMS Librarian. She’ll explain how to vote and help you make a plan to track the books you’ve read.
Ask her any questions you have about the process or where to find the books.
This is your chance to make your voice heard—help decide which books become favorites for middle school readers across Minnesota!
