Daily Homework
Almost all assignments are completed in class. However, if a student has trouble getting started or their time is not used wisely and the assignment is not completed, it is homework.
Read at least 20 minutes every night!
Can you imagine trying to win a game in a sport you've never played without ever practicing? How would you develop your skills without running drills and practice? You need to put in the time and practice in order to get better. The same thing goes when it comes to playing an instrument and being a good reader. Independent reading at home is a huge factor in academic success. Please carve out some time each night to practice this important skill. Students can read a variety of texts from school or home. Students will be keeping track of their reading throughout the trimester on a google document. The independent reading grade will be determined based on reading done in class and at home. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Technology Note
We have been increasingly using technology in the classroom. Students are able to use phones and tablets WITH PERMISSION for study apps, reading, and class games. Please be assured that your child does NOT need his or her own device--all activities can be done without them or in teams. We also have a classroom computer available for student use. When not in use for a class activity, ALL phones MUST be stored out of sight.
