Main Office: 763-506-3500
Attendance Line: 763-506-3506 or sys.misattendance@ahschools.us
If your student will be absent for any reason, please call the attendance line: 763-506-3506 or email mississippi@ahschools.us
If it becomes necessary to pick your student up during the school day, you must first sign him/her out in the office. The secretary will then call the child to the office to go home.
If, at any time, your student is not to follow their usual routine for going home, please call the office (763-506-3500) to inform us of your plans (email and voicemails to your student’s teacher are not the best way to communicate this change).
Without notification, your student will be required to go home by his/her usual way at the end of the kindergarten day.
Students should bring a backpack back and forth to school each day.
Students will have a take home folder. Unpack the folder each day and send it back the next day.
Anything that needs to be returned to school should be sent to school in this folder.
Kindergarteners may eat school breakfast and lunch at no charge.
Breakfast 8:45-9:00 (during arrival)
Lunch 11:45-12:10.
Students may also bring a lunch from home. Beverages should not include soda, energy drinks, etc. If you would like your student to bring a home lunch, but purchase a milk at school, please go online and add money to their account.
View the lunch menu HERE.
Work at home on tying shoes, buttoning, zipping, and snapping.
If your student cannot yet tie shoes, please have them wear velcro shoes.
Be sure to label everything your child brings to school including backpacks, lunch boxes, jackets, tennis shoes, boots, mittens, etc.
Practice PIN numbers at home to make lunchtime go more smoothly.
Students should wear tennis shoes to school each day.
Please help your kindergartener practice tying shoes at home. If your kindergartener cannot yet tie shoes independently, please wear velcro shoes or some other type of tennis shoes without laces.
Please send an extra set of clothing (underwear, pants, shirt, socks) for your student to keep in their locker in the event of an accident or a spill.
Students may bring a water bottle to school each day.
Water bottles will be sent back and forth each day so they can be washed each night.
Please make sure that your student is able to open, close, and refill their water bottle independently.
Test the water bottle to make sure that it does not leak.
Label with your student’s name.
We will celebrate student birthdays throughout the year.
Students may bring in a store bought snack to share (we encourage healthier options, like pretzels or fruit snacks, or even a non-edible prize such as a pencil or a sticker).
Students do not have to bring in anything at all. Students will be celebrated either way!
Birthdays that fall on a weekend will be celebrated before or after the weekend. Summer birthdays will be celebrated at the end of the school year.
