New Students

If you were unable to attend the January presentation, you must view the New Student Presentation  below before moving forward.

          PSEO PREPARATION: 10 STEPS 

January-April

• Review the PSEO Information Brochure, visit the  PSEO Hub and information on the MN Dept of Ed Website

February-April

• Check PSEO eligibility and deadlines for the college of your choice directly on their website and complete their online application (most common schools linked below).

  • Anoka-Ramsey CC, Bethel, Northwestern, North Hennepin CC,  U of M-Twin Cities

*The University of Minnesota will not notify of acceptance until May, please apply and prepare at a back up school just in case.

• Complete the Editable PSEO Contract and Credit Balance sheet with parent/guardian and download a copy of your transcript from your StudentVUE.

** Reference StudentVUE-> Course History-> Unofficial transcript and download. Check your BHS credits needed for graduation to complete these forms. 

• Schedule an appointment with a school counselor after February 20th, once the above requirements have been met. 

  • Visit the PSEO Google site and download your counselor specific PSEO State Form (Special Note: Bethel uses their own digital form on their site)

    •  Complete section 1 on the first page

    • Email the NOSR form it to your school counselor or upload it to your counselor's PSEO Google classroom

  • BRING or Upload your Signed: Editable PSEO Contract and Credit Balance sheet

*Students must complete NEW STATE FORM (NOSR) prior to registration with the college each semester.

• Check your email for a response from the college

  • Once you are accepted, the college will notify you of the next steps in their process. Read this communication carefully! 

Tip: Check your junk mail! 

March-May

• Register for classes with College Advisor

  • Refer to the course conversion chart(s), and your StudentVUE transcript, to make sure you are meeting graduation requirements as you register for classes.

• Anoka-Ramsey Community College,  North Hennepin Commuity College, Hennepin Technical College, Bethel University, University of Northwestern, University of Minnesota

Before May 30th

• Email your School Counselor your PSEO schedule

  • Your counselor will update your BHS schedule accordingly

• Make sure you are checking your email daily 

  • Make sure you have joined your counselors PSEO Google Classroom

Ongoing

• Stay in touch with your school counselor!

  • Prior to registering for college courses each semester, students are REQUIRED to connect with their counselor to sign a new State Form and then drop their high school classes once they know their college schedule.

August

• Start your PSEO class(s)

  • Immediately inform your counselor if you Withdraw from a PSEO class or change your class schedule.
