Put on by Mrs. Kate Ward and friends.
This project was born out of the fact that many of my students don't know what to read. They automatically think that reading is boring because it's something we do for school. They tell me they can't find any books that they like, but when I ask them if they have looked, they don't know where to start. So here's a starting place.
On this page, you will find a compiled list of book talks. Some of them are videos; some of them are written. All of them are from me or my colleagues or readers in the community. All of them are about books we love, or at the very least, thoroughly enjoy.
Hopefully we can provide you with awesome ideas for your next read. If you have a book you would like to share, let me know! I would love to add you to this page.
Reading is for communities of people, even though it sounds like an isolationist activity. We love talking books, so find any one of us in the school and talk to us about our books or what we are currently reading!
Raising up readers,
Mrs. Ward
