Step 3: Permit Test & Validation Info 

We Do Offer the Permit Test in Class!!!!!

To take the Permit test, the student needs to:

• Passed Driver Education and met attendance requirements.

• Be 15 years of age or older.

• Present  Proper Identification: One Primary & One Secondary ID to prove it’s you. (Click Here For More Info)

• Provide Social Security Number to Proctor

• Be Enrolled for Behind the Wheel - $315.

• Have Parents / Guardian Approval if under 18. 

If all the requirements are met above, the student will take the permit test on the last day of the class. 

STUDENTS WHO PASS THE PERMIT TEST AT THE SCHOOL SITE: 

• Must validate their permit test at a licensed center. Students cannot drive until it is validated. 

• Validating your permit can only be accomplished at a state exam station or a licensed center.  Most do accept walk-ins, but you can schedule an appointment up to 30 days in advance to make sure you get in (See QR codes below).

 Here is what you need to bring to validate:

• Electronic Blue Card (State Confirmation E-Mail from @MN_DPS - shows you passed the class & paid for BTW)

• Primary AND Secondary forms of Identification (Click Here For More Info)

• Social Security Number

• $29.50 permit registration fee

• If under 18, a Parent or Legal Guardian must sign the permit application form for approval

• Eyesight will be tested; don’t forget your corrective lenses if you have them.
